You also get 200 points per kill while capturing an enemy objective. For me that is a real incentive and I love racking up those points (FJ a must). My honest belief is that there are players who simply aren't good enough to excel at TDM nor Objective modes.
Being the case, they use the Objective game types to help handicap their play. Instead of a 10-6 TDM game they go 20-12 in Dom and call it a great round. In reality a true "slayer" in Objective modes needs to be in the 30-50 kill range with at least a 3-4 KD while completely disregarding the goal. At least then they are providing real cover for those capping and also disrupting the opponents in a more meaningful way.
